Presented by the Australian Latvian Theatre (ALT), this heartfelt and unifying event – the concert performance "Forever Belonging/Uz mūžiem piederīgs" – is dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Latvian poet Jānis Peters.
🕊️ Jānis Peters – a poet with the soul of the people.
Jānis Peters (1939–2025) was one of the brightest masters of Latvian lyrical poetry.
His poetry is woven with love for the homeland, a deep sense of national destiny, and poetic clarity.
It reveals both personal reflections and the collective experience of the people, rooted in the richness and musicality of the Latvian language.
Peters’ poetry serves as a bridge between the historical and the eternal – his words live on in songs, inspiring thought, emotion, and unity.
